Cookies and settings
Here you'll find which cookies and tools the site uses, what they're for and how to change your choices.
What the site uses
The site uses the cookies it needs to work and, if you accept, PostHog for visit analytics. We don't use profiling cookies or advertising tools.
Your choices
The first time you open the site we ask whether you accept analytics. «Accept» and «Reject» carry the same weight, and closing the banner with the X counts as a rejection. Your choice lasts six months, then we ask again. You can change it whenever you like, from here or from the «Cookie preferences» link at the bottom of every page.
Analytics with PostHog
PostHog tells us how many people visit the site, where they come from and which pages work. It is a service of PostHog Inc.; the data sits on its servers in the European Union, in Frankfurt.
- If you accept. PostHog stores a cookie in your browser to recognise the same visit from page to page and when you come back. We record the pages viewed, clicks, loading times, the country and city derived from your IP address and, for one visit in five, a recording of how you scroll and click the page. Form fields are always hidden: we don't see what you type.
- If you reject, or don't choose. We only count the pages viewed and when you leave a page, with no cookies and nothing stored in your browser. So as not to count the same person twice on the same day, PostHog computes a code on its servers from your IP address and browser, mixed with a value that changes every day: the next day it can no longer be linked back to you.
What stays in your browser
- cc_cookie (Telaio cookie): remembers your choice on the banner and the random code that finds it in our record (below). It lasts six months. It is necessary, no consent is needed.
- telaio-theme (browser storage): remembers the light or dark theme, only if you change it. It stays until you delete it. It is necessary, no consent is needed.
- ph_phc_…_posthog (PostHog cookie) and the other entries starting with ph_ or __ph_ in browser storage: they hold the pages of the same visit together and recognise returning visitors. They last up to one year. Only if you accept analytics.
You can delete all of it whenever you like from your browser settings, in the section about site data.
If you withdraw your consent
We delete PostHog's cookies and entries from your browser, and the page reloads. From then on we only count the pages viewed, with no cookies.
The record of your choices
We record every choice you make on the banner, the first one and every change, a rejection too. It lets us prove that you gave your consent, or that you didn't, as the GDPR requires (Article 7). We record the random code the banner stores in the cc_cookie cookie, the categories you accepted, the banner's version, whether it is your first choice or a change, and the time. We don't record your IP address or your browser, and the request is sent without cookies. Your choices reach us through the same Google service as the check-up form and are kept in a Google spreadsheet. On their own they don't say who you are: only the code in your cookie links them to your browser.
The check-up form
When you send the form to request the check-up, what you write reaches us through a Google service. Sending it doesn't store any cookie in your browser. If you accepted analytics, PostHog records that a request was sent and from which button: never your name, your email or your message. Our privacy notice explains how we handle the form's data.
